Patricia (Pat) Anne Karis is a dedicated local photographer who has been a proud member of the Artique Gallery for over six years, joining at the initial invitation of fellow photographer Carol Bowes.

Pat’s photographic journey is deeply rooted in the local community. She is a past member of the Malaspina Camera Club and remains an active member of the Malaspina Naturalist Group. The group outings have provided her with endless opportunities to capture the natural world. To refine her craft, Pat took lessons from local photographer Emma Laroque, and she has spent years collaborating and sharing perspectives with many of Powell River’s most creative and innovative photographers.

Long before she ever picked up a camera, Pat was already framing visual images in her mind’s eye. Photography has been an evolving passion for her. She truly sees beauty everywhere in the world and feels compelled to try and capture all of it, an impossible goal, perhaps, but one she joyfully pursues.

A selection of Pat’s Art Card Series, featuring stunning local landscapes like Inland Lake, the Eldred River, and Nanton Lake, is currently available at the local Visitor Centre.
