Finding inspiration in the beauty and ever changing landscapes of the coastal rainforest, Lorna creates impressionistic acrylic and multi media paintings. Not afraid of colour, she is influenced by the seasonal variances and patterns in nature.
Lorna can’t remember a time when she didn’t draw, although painting came much later. She is primarily self-taught with much influence and support from community art teachers in Burnaby and Steveston, BC. She continues to attend workshops and enjoys learning new techniques. Currently fascinated by encaustic paints, Lorna incorporates wax medium in many of her mixed media work.
Travel also plays a big part in finding subject matter and exploring with different mediums and tools. Lorna is fascinated by similarities of expressive designs through different cultures.
