Haley Hunt-Brondwin is a visual artist and designer from the West Coast of BC, currently based in Powell River. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Emily Carr University, her studies including an exchange with the European Exchange Academy in Beelitz-Heilstatten, Germany. Haley’s art practice is interdisciplinary; including painting, drawing, sculpture, tapestry and installation.

Haley is ever interested in exploring qualities of human relationships and our phenomenological and physiological relationship to the world we live in. Through slow labour, she utilizes colour, shape and texture to create abstracted landscapes that are surreal, vibrant and visceral. She is always seeking the tenuous balance that is somewhere in between unsettling and harmonious. Haley’s work is a reflection of the beauties and anxieties of our contemporary climate and offers the viewer a space to contemplate our mediated relationships with the natural world and with our own bodies and selves.
